The next morning all the movies he turned on was dubbed to spanish, even though probably 90% of the people on the bus were tourists (all terrible movies. All the three bus trips with the same company we had taken before (which were a lot shorter, so it didn't really matter) actually had good movies, in English, with spanish text), at one point he turned on a movie with ballades probably filmed around the eigthies.
But except for that it was a great bus trip, with wonderful views over the Andes
We have pretty much been on the move since we came to Peru last sunday. We stayed two nights in Lima, walked a bit around the city, visitied the San Fransisco church (with cool catacombs and a beautiful little library). Early tuesday morning we took the bus to Paracas where we visited some islands with loads of birds, penguins and some seals. And we also went on a car trip in the national park there, a desert area.
Later the same day we took the bus to Ica, and from there we went to a little oasis just outside the city where we stayed for two nights as well. We tried some dune boogies, and sandboarding (or rather sandsliding, and it went really, really fast, and was so much fun, nothing at all like the sandsliding we tried when we were in Mui Ne, Vietnam).
Then we went to Nasca where we to a small flight over the Nasca lines, everyone got an uneasy stomach, and my mum even threw up, but it was great to have tried a small airplane and seen the lines). The same night we went on the night bus to Cusco.
Now we are going to the sacred Valley just outside Cusco, and tomorrow we will be hiking the Salkantay rout to Machu Pichu.
