Sougia on the south-west coast of Crete, Greece. Same day as [link] A lonesome tree on mountain ridge or top taken below from the beach.
Was a little bit unsure of which category to put this one in, so if you think it fits better in another category, please tell me!

Post-processing:
Adjusted the levels a bit. Added a black and white layer set to multiply on 100% opacity, a b&w layer set to overlay on 50% opacity. Added two b&w layer set to multiply on the part of the sky not covered by clouds. And added a normal black&white layer with a greenbluish tint.

Stunning, oh to live in a area where hills are easily accessible lol. I love the feelings your post processing adds to your photos

To me, a lonely tree on a hill is the holy grail of landscape photography. I have yet to find a good one though. There's always something that breaks up the shot =(

This is awesome though!
:iconsamedi:
Oh, and I'd put it in landscapes. I don't really like the darkroom category, cause what shot isn't put through the "digital darkroom" anyway?
:iconcyclonez:
Amazing!

This reminds me of the movie 300. Especially how it was taken in Greece.

I've always been looking for a shot like this myself, but I've never found it before now (actually there was a lot of lonely trees on hills and mountain tops in Crete, I felt a little bit cheated in a way, I've been looking for it for so long and then I find "many" during one trip...)
Thank you, and thank you for the fav

Thank you :aww:
But I haven't seen the movie 300 so I have no idea of what you're talking about =p
:iconcyclonez:
300 is about the 300 spartans in a battle against Xerxes troops.

It's really exciting.
