Taken in Paracas National Reservation, Peru.

Once upon a time the sea level was higher and all these desert areas were under the sea level. Because of that it is a lot of salt in the sand, and I think that the truck in the picture was transporting salt.

Post-processing
Brigthened turned up the contrast a bit and adjusted the wb in camera raw.

Turned up the contrast a lot with a black and white layer set to overlay (100%). Darkened and turned up the contrast on the road only with a curves layer. Turned up the contrast on the desert part by darkening the darker tones with curves. Turned up the contrast some more on the whole picture with a curves layer. Added a black and white layer set to normal (70% opacity).

Added a tiny bit of vignetting.
