Description

Norddal/Dalsbygda on the west coast of Norway.

Post-processing
Turned down the contrast and adjusted the wb on all the pictures in camera raw.

Stitched the pictures with automerge in Photoshop.

Turned up the exposure with different selective curves layers (one for the sky, one for the "houses", one for the mountain, one for the "beach" and one for the fjord).

Turned up the contrast some more with a black and white layer set to soft light (40%), and added a slightly orange tint to that black and white layer to give the picture a warmer tone.

I can just feel the moisture sweeping in from the sea in this shot. The location is wild and perilous but colonised by men, big hairy brave red haired men I would say. The rock walls show their attempts to control their environment. The boats sheds seem to huddle beneath the giant rock. The depth in this shot is from the row of sheds and I like their position across the center of the shot which is carried right through by the water horizon. The central rock anchors the shot and the gritty colours and contrast seem very real and place me on that rocky shore. Well done!
