Herdalssetra close to Norddal/(Dalsbygda) and Eidsdal on the west coast of Norway.
An old seter. It's still in use, the old fashioned way, so I guess in a few weeks the place will be crowded with sheeps and goats, "budeier" (people working there), maybe cows and a few horses, and of course; tourists
I don't think there's an English word equal to the Norwegian "seter", but the closest might be mountain dairy or summer farm or... something
Post-processing Stitched together of about 30 pictures taken in portrait format.
Decreased the contrast on all the pictures - by turning down exposure slightly, up recovery and added some fill light - in camera raw to make a more neutral starting position and try to have as little overexposed or underexposed areas as possible.
Stitched the pictures together with automatic photomerge in camera raw.
Turned up the contrast with selective curves layers. One curves layer for darkening the sky-area around the sun. Two curves layers for darkening and turning up the contrast on the blue sky at the sides, one of them with the blending mode set to luminosity.
One curves layer for the foreground for lightening and turning up the contrast. Also added another curves layer for the whole picture, lightening it a bit more.
I'm even unsure if there's a Swedish word for it. Feels more like there should be a German or French word for it. Only place I can imagine who has something similar is along the Alps.
I tried to use wikipedia as a translator, (it usually works pretty well, actually ), but there was no link to an English version from the Norwegian one, so I went through the Deutsch one and ended up with alpine meadow, but that's not really exactly the same, but probably the closest one can come in English

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
