My head is spinning around

Tue May 12, 2009, 12:04 PM
I had this great idea last autumn to enter a self study version of Ex.phil. at the University in Oslo for the spring term. "Mainly" for the student card to get some discounts (I haven't had any use of it yet though...:XD:) and also because it, in my opinion, is an extremely interesting subject.

I thought I had a lot of time, more than enough to get some kind of grip on the subject, but I kind of "forgot" all about it , and then suddenly I realized that the exam was on May 12th (today). I bought the books last week, and for the last 5 days I've been reading - a lot. I almost got through the curriculum, had less than 50 pages left, but the exam didn't go too well. 5 days on a 600 pages curriculum is a bit on the short side, even for me: the extreme procrastinator (I once wrote a paper in psychology class at high school about procrastination, I decided on the theme the day the paper were supposed to be handed in...:D) But at least I managed to write about 6 pages in total, filled with more or less nonsense, and a tiny bit of truth. Four of the pages about the arguments Plato used in a part of "The state" where he kind of says women are equal to men, and compare (or something) his argumentation with Simone de Beauvoirs "The second sex" :faint:

I think it's a fail (if I actually pass I'll get surprised) but anyways I had a interesting time reading through the books

Oh and maybe hopefully good news. I think the interview with the photography school went really well, at least they said I "ranked high" and that I had no reason to leave with the feeling like I'd done a bad interview (which I had no intentions of doing anyways, as I felt it went pretty good), cause I hadn't, but also that it is a hard competition for the places. They interviewed 60 people (there were 140 appliers), and only 30 of these get a place at the school, so it's kind of a 50/50 chance now. I'll know for sure on the 20th of May, or maybe a few days before. I'm so exited/scared :excited:

I've been watching ~Japaslavian for a while now, and I absolutely love his works. He has this special atmosphere in his pictures, especially the black and white ones, that completely enchants me. You definitely have to check out his whole gallery, cause it's all just amazing :aww:
